Furen Village

Furen—or “Wife”—Village is situated on the western tip of Nangan Island. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, Furen Village is so called because the wife of a Japanese officer was once smitten with the village.

Across the water from Furen Village one can see the bustling port of Fu’ao, which is the main stopping point for the Taiwan—Matsu ferry and for passenger boats between Matsu and China. Come check out Fu Ren Cafe when in Fu Ren Village. A bed & breakfast for backpackers is on the second floor. What a great alternative to local hotels!
