Because of its special terrain and the geographical position, in each season on the Matsu islands wild flowers blossom everywhere. The safflower lycoris radiata, the Matsu lily and the Matsu lycoris radiata are the most distinctive plants in the Matsu garden. There are also red sandalwood, the evening primrose flower, the dog baby flower, the dianthus chinensis, and the oil chrysanthemum, All the flowers bloom willfully on the suitable land in their own seasons.

Starts from January , the oil chrysanthemum blooms on the mountain since the winter is precisely the season for oil chrysanthemum to blossom gradually, the spread of wild yellow floret gives the islands abundant vitalities. When the season changes, the midsummer lily blossoms in Matsu, in early fall, pink Matsu lycoris radiates. About one month later, the safflower lycoris radiata blossoms on leeward slopes in Matsu, Near Dong yong lighthouse and the Dong Ju power plant , flower blossom abundantly, with the grand appearance of the mountain, it becomes a scenic must see hotspot .

The evening primrose flowers has become the characteristic flower on the chain islands in recent years especially on April and May, near Beigan airport and the pond in a sand beach, the bloom of evening primrose flowers is like a yellow carpet, to welcome the tourist warmly, until the end of the fall. The sea cotton rose is the most popular medicinal plant on the island; It looks as beautiful even when it does not bloom. People believe it cures rheumatism when soaking in liquor ,therefore the wild sea cotton rose are excavated, the quantity of wild sea cotton rose is not as many as past, it is worth to advocate care .
